Breeding
Biological standard. Intercropping: wheat, maize, soya, ryegrass. Fertilisation with organic fertiliser (intercropping with vetch).

Surface work with brushing and ploughing. Weeding of plants by hand, mechanical means and false sowing techniques.

Only when necessary and according to biological standard.

Average 4 tonnes/hectare.

After harvesting and processing
After drying in hot air, the rice is sent for processing and stored in special silos. This is followed by mechanical cleaning, removal of the husk by roller milling, stone milling and optical sorting, vacuum packing.
Further information
Organic rice growing is one of the most demanding and requires a lot of work, often by hand, due to weeds. Croods, among the weeds, are the most common; we control them by harvesting by hand and with a rake, as in the old days.
